MONTALCINO BOOK SHOP & NEWSAGENTS

As well as newspapers and magazines, newsagents in Italy sell bus tickets and postage stamps. Frequently they display a ‘Sali e Tabacci’ sign which indicates that they once were the official sellers of Salt as well as Tabacco – both being distributed under tight government control!

Alessio and Elisabetta carry a range of greeting cards, childrens toys, games and books as well as  newspapers from around the world during the holiday season. A Cartolibreria carries a wide range of gift wrappings and ribbons, as well as office supplies – but not salt or tabacco!
